Meet Donna Jares

Donna is a retired Court Services secretary, and one our most dedicated senior members at True Fitness. She rarely misses a session of our senior class, and she always has a smile on her face! After struggling with back pain, Donna received rehab from our therapists at Dakota Physical Therapy. After this, Donna joined True Fitness in December 2014 and hasn’t looked back.

Our Q and A with Jerry

What are your health/fitness goals? 

I intend to keep going to True Fitness as well as the classes. I have new goals of weight loss, increased exercise time, and more time spent walking. 

What is your favorite thing about training at True Fitness?

The classes. Everyone is very friendly, the facility is great. The classes push you a little outside your comfort zone. This is what everyone needs, i am in better shape now that 5 years ago.  This is saying a lot for a woman my age. 

Do you have any exercise goals for next year?

I want to lose a little more weight. I want to also increase my total exercise time. With my love of walking i want to do more of it.

What advice would you give to someone who is feeling a little leery of starting an exercise program?

Go for it! what do you have to lose? Fitness classes work for everyone, working at your own pace while still being pushed. When you live alone it is fun to share time with people and get in shape.

Is there anything else you'd like to say?

Everyone needs to get out and exercise. it increases how you feel and your health!!


Meet Cameron Dienert

Cameron has been a member of True Fitness for 2 years. He works as an x-ray technician and, in his off time, dedicates himself to health and fitness. He believes in cross training, and is often seen in every part of True Fitness, from shooting hoops in the fitness court to working on his cardio, to weight training in the free weight area.

Our Q and A with Tonya

What are your fitness goals?

Over the last 2 years I have done triathlons throughout the state, so I’d like to get back into shape to start that season again.

What is your favorite thing about training at True Fitness? 

My favorite thing about true fitness would have to be the trainers. If I need a spot while lifting, they are always willing to help. And if they see something I’m doing wrong they tell me the right way to do it so I don’t injure myself, and I get the most out of the workout.80E00780901AB27C1E


Q: Do you have any training goals for next year?

I’d like to join the 1000 pound club. When I started lifting that was one of my goals. I’m close so I’d like to get there soon.

Q: What advice would you give to someone who is feeling a little leery of starting an exercise program? 

 It takes 21 days to make something a habit. The start of working out is always the hardest. So stick with what you are doing for 3 or more weeks and you might start to enjoy it like I did

Hardest part is getting through the door. Never Give up!!
